aboutCRAIG

Craig Drew is an 8 time American National Rally Champion alongside David Higgins for Subaru Motorsport USA (formerly Subaru Rally Team USA), making him the most successful rally Co-Driver in American history. Craig has amassed over 250 rally starts, 54 overall wins and over 900 stage wins across North America, Europe, China and the Middle East.

Craig’s passion for rallying comes directly from his family, who, all keen rally enthusiasts, first took Craig to spectate at his local rally when he was just 4 years old.

After graduating University, Craig competed in his first rally in 2003 alongside his older brother Paul, where their first ever stage finished with Craig pushing their stricken car over the finish line!

After one season with his brother, Craig’s talents were quickly spotted and he was soon competing in National-level rallies in a variety of 4WD cars, before competing in his first event in the top-level WRC category of car in 2006. After many Top-3 finishes on both gravel and tarmac rallies, Craig was selected for the prestigious MSA Rally Academy program, a centre of excellence scheme aimed at developing the best young drivers and co-drivers in the UK. Run and supported by former WRC Champions Nicky Grist and Robert Reid, the skills learned in the Academy enabled Craig to progress to International competition, including the World Championship, the Chinese Rally Championship, and the Middle-Eastern Rally Championship.

In 2010, Craig became the MSA National Tarmac Champion alongside Damian Cole in a Ford Focus WRC and was runner-up in the British Rally Championship alongside Adam Gould in a Subaru N11.

At the end of 2010, Craig was chosen to sit alongside David Higgins in the official manufacturer-supported Subaru Rally Team USA, competing in the 2011 Rally America National Championship. Originally a one-year contract, the pair have gone on to win 8 National Championships in 9 years with Subaru, including an incredible “perfect season” in 2015, winning every rally that they competed in.

Craig resides in Newport, Wales, with his fiancé Lydia and daughter Zara.
